You would not believe how many sponsors, beauty addicts, bloggers, photographers and twenty something event goers attended this year’s first ever Beauty Binge!
It was definitely an expo-like event with salons, spas, makeup artists, jewelry makers and others, who set up in different stands to promote their brands. We mingled, sipped on PourMoi Cognac (made for women) Vitamin C cocktails, enjoyed amazing samples of Kissing Cake and indulged in complimentary manis from Oasis Day Spa.
Sponsored by Shop Addicts, who combine a woman’s love for shopping with social awareness, the goal at last week’s event was to raise consciousness about Gifted Hands NYC, an organization that empowers youths and adults in difficult situations to “seek and realize their entrepreneurial dreams” through art programs.
I met Founder Dee Rivera of Shop Addicts who was quite quite friendly and said she believes “every woman should be a philanthropist.” This is such great advice and one that I will hold dear to my heart for years to come.
The beautiful and talented Melissa Flores (of SuperGlamNews and our June Girl of the Month) was also there and she was a joy to be around. You could tell she was excited about all the beauty products since she’s a beauty blogger and enthusiast. All the bloggers and press received over $100 worth of beauty products to take home!
Everyone in attendance also received the opportunity to get their hair styled by top-notch salons like Belegenza (which would normally charge up $300 for their services) and PANYC salon. Take a look at how great of a job stylist Alan (from Belegenza) did on Lucy.
To sum up this event in four words, it was a “woman’s dream come true!” Everyone has got to be at any venue that combines beauty, fashion and free stuff for a good cause! Wouldn’t you agree?
