What is your Natural Beauty?

What is considered natural beauty? Is it not dying your hair or wearing too much makeup? I think we crossed that threshold a while back with everyone now wearing weave, fake boobs and padded booties. Have we gone so far away from what true beauty is that we don’t know what it is to be natural anymore?

I believe natural beauty stems from not hiding what you REALLY are. If you have freckles all over your face, natural beauty would entail accentuating it with a little blush or bronzer. Or if you’re a B cup, it would be being satisfied enough not to get silicone implants.

A couple of months ago Solange Knowles decided to cut off her long hair (or her long weave) to embrace her natural short hair and the whole world freaked out! She said she had done this before and wanted to feel free from the bondage that so many women put on with wearing weave. Her new natural look is great and obviously she looked good before but there’s something about her new look that gives her a sort of natural glow.

Mariah Carey has also gone back to her roots with her curly locks, making her look ten years younger.

And Halle Berry has always stuck to her pixie cuts; highlighting her well-known cheek bones and gorgeous, flawless skin.

In our day and age it may be very difficult to be our natural selves, but at some point we have to accept the great features God has given us and let it shine through. True beauty is unique and who doesn’t want to be uniquely beautiful?
